Job Summary

Rising Dawn Studios seeks a meticulous and passionate QA Tester to join our team in creating high-quality, story-driven games. As a QA Tester, you will play a critical role in ensuring our games meet the highest standards by identifying bugs, testing gameplay mechanics, and collaborating closely with developers and designers. Your feedback will help shape the player experience, ensuring smooth gameplay and polished final products.

Average salary for QA Testers in Tennessee ranges from $58,200 to $71,637, with a median salary of approximately $64,787 annually.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and scripts to uncover issues across multiple game platforms.

  • Identify, document, and report bugs clearly and concisely using industry-standard tools.

  • Collaborate with developers and designers to replicate and troubleshoot issues.

  • Conduct functional, performance, usability, and regression testing to ensure quality and performance benchmarks are met.

  • Participate in QA team meetings, providing feedback on testing processes and potential improvements.

  • Continuously update test cases based on evolving game features and design changes.

  • Ensure that bug fixes are properly implemented and documented in subsequent builds.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in a related field is a plus.

  • 1-3 years of experience in game testing or software QA preferred.

  • Familiarity with game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal) and bug-tracking software is highly desirable.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in bug-tracking tools such as JIRA, Bugzilla, or Trello.

  • Understanding of game development cycles and testing methodologies.

  • Basic knowledge of programming or scripting languages is a bonus.

Soft Skills

  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

  • Adaptable to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced development environment.
