Sound Designer

Job Summary

At Rising Dawn Studios, the Sound Designer plays a key role in crafting immersive audio experiences that bring our games to life. You will design, implement, and refine sound effects, music, and voiceovers to enhance gameplay and storytelling. This role requires collaboration with designers, animators, and programmers to ensure audio aligns seamlessly with the game’s vision and enhances player engagement.

Compensation

Estimated Annual Salary Range: $57,000 - $68,000 annually (depending on experience and qualifications).

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement sound effects, ambient sounds, and audio cues.

  • Collaborate with the creative team to align audio with artistic and narrative goals.

  • Work with programmers to integrate audio assets using game engines like Unity or Unreal.

  • Edit and mix voiceovers, music, and dialogue to match game requirements.

  • Conduct audio testing to ensure high-quality sound across platforms.

  • Maintain an organized library of audio assets and document processes.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Audio Engineering, Sound Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 2+ years of experience in sound design, preferably in game development.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in DAWs like Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or Reaper.

  • Familiarity with audio middleware such as FMOD or Wwise.

  • Understanding of game engines, particularly Unity or Unreal Engine.

  • Strong sound editing, mixing, and mastering skills.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality.

  • Creative problem-solving and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
